Bonjour mes amis! I first met Etran de L'Aïr through the fantastic compilation that Sahel Sounds released - "Music from Saharan WhatsApp" - so I couldn't resist interviewing the guys upon their show at L.A. venue Zebulon.

We talked about how they got their start playing music at traditional weddings, what it's like to play 4-hour-long sets, and ofc, what their fav love songs are! I personally love the 'desert blues': it transports me to a world of hypnotic riffs and otherworldly rhythms.

Anyone want to join me on a trip to Agadez?

“'Toubouk Ine Chihoussay' means flower of beauty.' If there is one song to play about love, that's the one."
